European SharePoint Office 365 & Azure Conference 2019: Key Takeaways
ESPC is Europe's leading online community, providing educational resources and encouraging collaboration. Each year ESPC gathers SharePoint, Office 365 & Azure experts from around the world in one European location for the largest conference of its kind. This year Prague hosted the event.
If you work with SharePoint like us, it's a must-attend event and the OnePlace Solutions Team was proud to be a silver sponsor for the 4th year in a row. With over 150 sessions there was a wealth of information to discover, our team has narrowed it down for you with their key takeaways:
Cameron Dwyer, Chief Technology Officer, OnePlace Solutions:
Interest in Microsoft Teams was very strong at the conference. In particular, attendees showed an appetite for guidance and best practice on how to plan and execute a successful deployment of Microsoft Teams, along with satisfying governance requirements that existing technologies provided and giving themselves the best chance of keeping users positive about the change and getting the critical user adoption that will ultimately determine the success of the project.
Elissa Caligiuri, Global Technical Manager, OnePlace Solutions:
What a great conference to meet some fantastic people from Europe passionate about SharePoint!
Microsoft Teams was very popular, which was evident with full rooms for all Microsoft Teams sessions. The open panel session run by Christian Buckley with industry experts was incredibly insightful to hear some real-world issues around user adoption and how these can be overcome.
Hot features worth a mention within Microsoft Teams include multi-window experience, chat & private channels!
Project Cortex was an exciting announcement - the first new service in Microsoft 365 since the release of Microsoft Teams - applying advanced AI to collect, organize, and distribute knowledge & expertise in the apps you use every day - check it out here.
Patrick Gibson, Global Sales Lead, OnePlace Solutions:
It was great to catch up with some of our partner network along with some current customers at ESPC19. We love exhibiting at this event and meeting with the community.
The enhancements to Content and Team collaboration that Microsoft is bringing through will help businesses all over the world. The improvements in OneDrive's sharing capabilities and the power of SharePoint/Teams to help with information management will deliver better corporate outcomes for people in business.
The refreshed Office.com announcement is also great to see the UI changes that will allow for a better experience with enhanced options to search documentation saved through 365, I like the AI recommendations that are coming through with @mention capabilities to ensure that you can connect with the right team member across your organization.
This event is always a great way to engage with the SharePoint community and we can't wait to be back next year! To get your tickets for ESPC20 visit the event website.
See you at ESPC20!!
