Four key takeaways from the European SharePoint, Office 365 & Azure Conference 2022
After two years online, the European SharePoint, Office 365 & Azure Conference 2022 (ESPC22) was back live and in-person. Gathering SharePoint, Office 365, and Azure experts from around the world, the largest conference of its kind was held in Copenhagen, Denmark from November 28 to December 1.
OnePlace Solutions was proud to be a gold sponsor supporting the ESPC22, helping attendees discover how we provide a simplified and consistent way for people to engage with business systems built on Microsoft 365 for better information management and governance.
This year, we were inspired by keynote speakers, facilitated successful live demonstrations with exciting giveaways, and learned from Microsoft 365 presenters, leading exhibitors, and industry experts, including our very own chief technology officer (CTO), Cameron Dwyer.
Here are four of the biggest takeaways from ESPC22:
1. The value of in-person events – meeting customers face-to-face was priceless!
The ability to reconnect in person at the ESPC conference was invaluable. The team at ESPC excelled in engaging the attendees with some outstanding speaker presentations throughout the conference. It was an excellent opportunity for the OnePlace Solutions team to converse and develop new connections throughout the industry while reconnecting with customers and partners.
We found engagement was much easier in person and had the valuable experience of learning how the Microsoft community leaders push the boundaries of what is possible and deliver great outcomes for companies worldwide.
2. Increasing adoption of Microsoft 365 and SharePoint
One of the common themes recurring throughout discussions and sessions was the idea of Microsoft 365 as a platform to build applications on. While this isn’t a new capability, it is an indicator of organisations’ maturity and adoption of Microsoft 365 and SharePoint.
Core business applications such as document management systems, project management systems, and legal matter management systems are being built on top of Microsoft 365 to remove chaos and complexity, reduce costs, and maximise productivity – all areas we know firsthand from our customers how essential this is for business success
3. Making sense of data overload
One of the most asked questions at the conference was, “How do I find ways to adopt Microsoft 365 but also help my end users make sense of information overload?” This is a question we support customers with daily – delivering solutions that enable users to access content any place they have access to Outlook, even on the move! Reducing complexity and driving productivity for all of our users. As Microsoft 365 gets deployed and the more it gets used in an organisation, the harder it gets to find the right data and ensure the right people can access it at the right time. When the end user opens SharePoint, they’re often confronted with a deluge of information, making it difficult to find what’s relevant to them. Developing integrations inside existing applications, such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, is the key to bringing the right information to the people who need it while filtering out the information they don’t require.
4. Preview of the Microsoft Graph Developer Proxy
There were many major announcements during the conference; however, the Microsoft Graph Developer Proxy preview was particularly memorable. Microsoft Graph Developer Proxy aims to help developers simulate throttling and other error conditions when developing against Microsoft Graph. Using the proxy to simulate throttling, errors, and mock responses will help developers identify and fix issues in their code before they reach production. Beforehand, developers often wouldn’t encounter these issues until they were deployed into production
A memorable experience at the ESPC22
The ESPC22 team created a fun, welcoming event and brought together an informative and inspiring group of speakers, sponsors, and delegates. We can’t wait to attend ESPC once again when the conference is held next year at the RAI in Amsterdam from November 27 to November 30.

How to improve email communication through OnePlaceMail’s email tracking service
Email communication is still one of the most widely used tools in business, with 86 percent of professionals preferring it over other methods, such as instant messaging (IM) platforms and voice and video conferencing tools. Projected figures anticipated that the total daily email traffic—sent and received—would grow to a staggering 347 billion by the end of 2023. However, this ubiquity introduces significant challenges, particularly in maintaining compliance and managing critical business information.
