Release 8.9 delivers with a new and improved code signing certificate and enhanced UI for productivity and user experience.
What is EV Code Signing?
Extended Validation (EV) Code Signing is a security mechanism used to sign software or code with a digital signature, indicating that the code has been verified by a trusted certificate authority (CA). This process involves a more rigorous validation procedure compared to standard code signing.
Benefits of EV Code Signing:
- Allow users to verify the code is authentic
- Protect intellectual property by allowing users to verify the code is authentic
- Prevent security warning labels - to ensure a smooth process. Digitally signed software can avoid warning messages during download and installation for a better user experience
- Efficient monitoring - digitally signed code can easily detect modified files
- Show our commitment to the safety of your data
Additionally, R8.9 includes UI changes for a more streamlined admin client and more intuitive design, driving productivity and a better user-friendly experience.
