Key Takeaways from European SharePoint Conference 2018

It’s Europe’s largest conference of its kind, attracting IT professionals of all levels from around the world. With the Microsoft leadership team and the ‘Father of SharePoint’ Jeff Teper in attendance, it was the must attend event of 2018. This conference brings together people from numerous countries that have varied reasons why moving to the cloud may be difficult or not possible. The immediate need for GDPR compliance and stricter control on personal data saw a lot of interest in the work Microsoft have been doing in the areas of Data Governance, Security and Compliance, and Data Loss Prevention, which enabled the OnePlace Solutions team and I to have some meaningful conversations about how we can help.”

“As Product Manager at OnePlace Solutions hearing product roadmap updates for SharePoint and OneDrive in 2019 is always exciting, but my highlight of the event has to be dining with Jeff Teper at the ESPC18 celebration!

With the news of continued enhancements to the Graph API I am eager to start using this functionality, which will provide developers with even more opportunities. Document libraries in SharePoint and the ability to customize Microsoft Teams using the SPFX framework providing rich experiences in the Microsoft Teams client where people perform there day to day work will continue to add value to these platforms.

This is a great conference with people from multiple nationalities collaborating and sharing ideas. A real positive energy from the start, its great to see how ‘alive’ the SharePoint community is.”
