The Transition to Modern Add-in Development
OnePlace Solutions are one of the first companies globally to have launched add-ins based on the new model for desktop, iPhone, and Android. Our Chief Technology Office Cameron Dwyer is speaking at this month's Sydney SharePoint User Group about the transition to modern add-in development.
Until recently developers who wanted to integrate Word, Excel, or PowerPoint with SharePoint used the COM add-in model, but now Microsoft has a new Modern Office add-in development model.
Cameron Dwyer will discuss the high-level architecture of this modern add-in model, the new technologies and choices involved, transitioning developer skillsets, advantages/disadvantages of the modern model. He will also touch on Azure, Angular, TypeScript, Office 365 APIs, Office UI Fabric, Authentication and Applications Insights, and DevOps.
